Welcome Back

22nd Feb 2021

Welcome back everyone,

I hope you all had a really good rest over the midterm break and are ready to start back with school work again.

As you will know it has been announced that children in Nursery, Primary 1, Primary 2 and Primary 3 will return to school building on Monday 8th March. It will be great to welcome the children back, but the following week we're closed 3 days for the St Patrick's Day break. In reality is those year groups will only be in the building for 7 days before resuming remote learning again in the run up to Easter. On the bright side we know (at the minute) these classes will then resume following the Easter break, we can only hope that the rest of the school will follow soon after.

We will be able to facilitate Key Worker children throughout this period, please remember that Key Worker Supervision is available as a last resort. Booking forms will continue to be sent out weekly to Y4 to 7 parents as usual and we urge prompt booking as we need to organise appropriate staffing levels.

We ask that you engage with the Remote Learning over the coming weeks, reply or like posts on Seesaw and submit pictures of children's learning so that the class teacher is aware that the children are engaging.  For children in Year 6 and 7 please reply to the morning message each day and submit work as close to the hand in time as possible.

We were delighted to purchase Collins Big Cat as a Reading scheme for the school, you should have received the information in the post, if not could you please contact the office as soon as possible.  Reading is the most important activity we could ask the children to take part in during Remote Learning.

We were really pleased with how well the children engaged with the online learning before midterm and we ask for one final push now in the run up to Easter in the hope that the children will gain as much as possible this term.

If anyone is struggling with access to devices or getting online please contact the office as soon as possible.

As soon as the Minister for Education has provided information on the return of Nursery to P3 we will share with parents.

Best wishes for the term ahead, and please remember that we are here to support parents and children through the Remote Learning process, I'm in the office each day and always contactable by email!

Take care and keep safe :)
