As part of Maths Week, the Primary 1’s took part in some cross-curricular learning, in the forest. The children went on a ‘Bear Hunt’ with a twist, as We're Going on a Bear Hunt is their focus story this week. The children practised their skills of recognising numerals 0-10; ordering numerals 0-10, and matching numerals. They had great fun, while also learning new concepts. The children worked in groups and demonstrated fantastic teamwork.
The children used their skills of exploring body space through different types of movement, re-creating scenes from the book and using their imagination going through the grass, river, mud, forest, snowstorm and into a cave.
