Maths Week in Nursery!
Nursery took part in Maths Week. There was lots of learning!
Our dinner routine - matching the coloured cup with their placemat and setting their table.
Shapes - Sorting 2D shapes by shape, size and colour and counting how many.
Large wooden shapes - making a pattern or building.
Making patterns using leaves and pasta shapes.
Pumpkin sorting - largest to smallest, heavy and light and counting how many.
Threading shapes and following a pattern.
Forest School - searching for long and short sticks to make 2D shapes. We measured sticks to make sure they are the same size when making a square and 2 long and 2 short for a rectangle. Children collected the sticks and we counted the children to make sure we had enough sticks for each child.
Water Tray - talking about empty and full and making a pattern using pumpkins and cauldrons.
Mark making shapes in shaving foam.
Board game - Snail race - rolling the dice, recognising the colour and count how many you move have to move on.
