Eco Schools Award

21st May 2019

Today the Eco Committee received the prestigious Eco Schools Green Flag award! After an assessment by eco inspector Ruth Van Ry, the pupils were delighted to receive this accolade. Ruth was amazed with the work the school has been doing in promoting and developing an eco-conscious ethos. She explained that the pupils enthusiasm and knowledge for eco-schools demonstrated how dedicated they were towards achieving the Green Flag. The Eco Committee chose to focus on Energy as their major topic and were able to have solar panels installed on the roof of the school. Their minor topics focused on Biodiversity and Litter/Waste, which has resulted in mini-beast hotels, bat/bird boxes and litter picks being carried out in school. We are over the moon to have achieved the Green Flag Award and will continue to ensure our school remains an eco-school!

Well done to all the boys and girls on the Eco Council and a great big thank you to Mr Flanagan for all his hard work in making this happen!
