Starting Back

28th Aug 2020

Dear Parents and Carers,

Staff have been busy this week putting the final touches to our restart plans.  We can’t wait to welcome all of our children back on Tuesday 1st September.  This is just a reminder of the arrangements for the first week back.  The Nursery, Primary 1 and Primary 7 have coped well with all the new routines.

Morning Procedure

  • Primary 2 will start at 8.50am entering at the main door making their way to the classroom.
  • Primary 3 and 4 will start at 9.00am entering at the main door making their way to the classroom.
  • Primary 5, 6 and 7 will start at 9.10am entering by following the new path to the playground where their teacher will meet them.
  • On the 1st September only, children may be accompanied by a parent/guardian to the door or playground- all parents to exit via car park.
  • From 2nd September no parents will be allowed through the gates without an appointment.
  • From 2nd September children will make their way to the playground for their allocated start time.
  • Children who arrive by bus should make their way to their classroom via the middle door along the path.

Home time Procedure

  • Primary 2 children will be collected at 1.50pm
  • Primary 3 & 4 children will be collected at 3.00pm
  • Primary 5,6& 7 children will be collected at 3.10pm

Parents can make their way to the top playground and wait until the class teachers bring the children out.

If children in P5,6&7 have a sibling in P3 or 4 they can leave at 3pm as well.

*Busy Bees will commence for P2 children on Monday 7th September costing £1 per day.

These procedures will be reviewed at the end of week 1.

Bus Children

  • Wait at bus stop in class or family ‘bubbles’.
  • Only board bus when instructed to by school staff.
  • Any adults travelling by bus should wear a mask but we would recommend that no adults accompany children by bus.
  • Bus passes will be topped up in school, but it will take 48hours for them to be processed- please send pass and money in an envelope clearly marked with child’s name and class. Class teacher will forward this to office.

The bus will leave school at 2.45pm and travel to Ardmore and then on to Currynierin.

Parents are not permitted inside the school building, strictly by appointment only either by ringing the office 02871349489 or by emailing cduddy605@c2kni.net  All adults visiting the school will be required to wear a mask.

As always we ask that parents park considerately, please treat our neighbours with respect. Be aware that you may need to park a little further down the road and walk the rest of the way.

Please share the pictures with your child/children so they have an idea of what to expect on Tuesday.

If possible we'd ask that all parents donate a box of tissues and a pack of antibacterial wipes!

We appreciate in advance your cooperation with our plans to safely reopen our school and we request that you follow instructions of school staff at all times.
